- Herb was recently honored with a letter from President
Clinton proclaiming him a national treasure.
- His rich baritone voice is better than ever. He has
a 4.5 Octave Range.
- His vintage is 88 years, he looks 60, and sounds
45!
- He Introduced Tony Bennett to Mitch Miller.
- Herb was the lead singer with the Duke Ellington
Orchestra during The Blanton-Webster Era.
- His signature song, "Flamingo" went to
number one in 1941, selling over 14,000,000 copies.
- One of Herb's first jobs was singing in one of Al
Capone's nightclubs in Chicago.
- Headlined the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in 1999. He
also headlined the Sweet and Hot Jazz Festival at the LAX Marriott
for Duke Ellington's 100th Anniversary. Herb is in demand so
much that he says, "I come home to see if the rug has faded."
- In 2000 he's finished a new album called, "The
Duke and I". Herb currently performs to capacity crowds.

Soldiers... Just to name a few.
- He was married to Tempest Storm, the most famous
exotic dancer of all time.
- Began learning how to drive cattle at 10 years young.
- Sang in the church choir.
- Preformed at the Dime a Dance.
- Went from "Table" singing with a megaphone
for tips to singing on the "Moonlight Steamers" riverboat
in Detroit.
- Starred in the first, all black cast, singing cowboy
movies made on planet earth, as "The Bronze Buckaroo"
circa 1938.
- Recorded an album with Warner Western Records in
